Indy Car driver Dan Wheldon dies in crash
Stepping outside of football for a moment, Indy Car driver Dan Wheldon was killed today in a fiery crash at Las Vegas Speedway just 12 laps into the Las Vegas 300 Indy Car season finale. The race was cancelled following the crash, which involved 15 cars and sent 3 drivers to the hospital including Wheldon. Wheldon was pronouced dead at the hospital later on after being airlifted from the track. Such tragedies as this should not go without notice, in any sport. Wheldon was a 2-time Indy 500 winner and the 2006 Indy Car Champion. He will be missed.
