Newton Embarrassed by Performance vs. Titans

Cam Newton stated after the Panthers' 30-3 loss to the Tennessee Titans this past Sunday that he was "embarrassed" by the offense's overall performance. The Panthers only managed to enter the red zone three times total during the course of the game, one of which ended with Greg Olsen fumbling on the Titans' ten yard line. The other two were meaningless drives at the end of the game when the final outcome was already decided. Newton wound up as the Panthers' leading rusher for the game with just 55 yards. Newton also stated that he had "never, ever, ever" been involved in a game in which his offense failed to reach the end zone.
The Panthers now stand at 2-7 on the season as they get set to face a much improved Detroit Lions team in Detroit this Sunday. The Lions will come into this game with a chip on their shoulder after losing last week to the Chicago Bears 37-13. The Lions are currently 6-3 on the season, in a tie for second in the NFC North by record, however, with the loss to the Bears, Detroit now falls to third behind the Bears who now hold the tiebreaker advantage over them.
By the way, the Panthers are winless this season on the road at 0-3.
